a few newbie axial scorpion rtc spec questions
« on: Jan 03, 2012, 09:39:10 PM »
I cant seem to get the answers im looking for on the rc forums..... so maybe you guys can help, been researching the axial scorpion rtc
just to bash, take camping and better than my last radio shack throw away 4x4 i had along time ago.

1. I see in the specs it says the Overall gear ratio range from 15:1 to 74:1, is that straight out of the box stock? or with the aftermarket options available changing out the "ring and pinion every time i want to go from different ranges, hows that work with a single speed transmission?

2. ide like to get atleast 45min-1.5 hours run time per charge/ battery ive got a 1800 mah battery pack right now no car yet (so i cant test it out) are these run times realistic from a stick pack if i decide not to do a lipo, even if i had to buy a second stick battery pack

3. With a 55t motor vs the 27 the scorpion rtr has, the rtc has more torque but approx whats the top speed on this crawler?

those are the after market options. you would need to swap the pinion and the spur gear if u wanted to change it.

i think u would be lookin more like 30 minutes with the pack u have now. i have a 2200 mah lipo and i get about an hour of run time with a lot of throttle

3. With a 55t motor vs the 27 the scorpion rtr has, the rtc has more torque but approx whats the top speed on this crawler?

with it stock a slow walking pace.

I have an 1800 mah saddle pack and I get 45 min. To an hour out of mine. It's a crawler so it won't really go fast at all
