Rubicon Trailer parking
« on: Apr 15, 2011, 08:15:18 AM »
Hey guy's,
I have not done the Rubicon yet and am going to MCR10 this year. My question is where can we park are trailers and tow rigs? I am planning on going in the Loon lake side. Where is there to park near that entrance?  I did search the forums and only found a rant about how not to park.

Thanx in advance for the help.
Chad
If I hit it just right, I might make it.

there is a staging area at the bottom of the dam at loon side where you can park your rig and trailer, or park on the side of the road just before the 2nd dam(thats what I usually do).

yea, for the most part.  i never had anything messed with, besides someone taking my front license plate last year.  I wouldn't leave tools or parts laying loose in the bed of the truck, but I wouldn't worry about anyone breaking in.

or park at Rob's Resort.  I thing they charge $15 per night to park you tow rig and trailer.  It'll save you some time too if you have to circle around and back up ice house so you don't have to go all the way back to loon.

If you dont have 4x4 tow rig and plan on towing up that gravel road get a good run at it. If you park to far from the challet with your tow rig and have a green stickered rig you could recieve a ticket.  When you park try not to block anyone in.  With that in mind keep your tow rig facing so not to get blocked in.  I have always parked at loon at the top before the turn around before the road with rocks on it for mcr and no theft or damage.

this is what you would see on the left towing in I park before I get to here facing the opposite direction.  That way I can load up the rig and not have to turn around and just go.
