so i found this truck for sale for $1,000. it runs and drives fine he said it was his daily driver for the last three years topless, i an wondering how hard will it be to locate a cab for this truck?

you could even put an older cab on it if you needed to, whats the specs on it?

98' 3.4 v6, 5spd, elocker rear, has 140k mile on it i believe 3" suspension 3" body, 35x15.50x15 sx's on stock-o wheels

Thats a damn good deal for a $1000.

Worth it for the interior, rear end, front 4wd ifs (to convert prerunner to 4wd), engine/tranny/tcase, and interior alone even if you didn't swap cabs.

ya all i need to do now is find someone to transport it from the dudes place in colorado springs to my mother in laws house in north colorado springs till i can go up there and pick it up!

So I bought the truck and had it delivered yesterday, I ended up only paying $950 for the truck so I am pretty excited to get started! Now come the had part I want to swap to a double cab, I heard that's pretty simple but how do I find a parts cab? I don't need a bed just cab and maybe front clip...

Best bet is cragislist, here or Pirate. Also maybe call junk yards in your area, see if maybe they have one.

Ok cool I haven't spotted anybon clist, but i will check pirate and junkyards, currently I am in central tx and it seems to be a part of the world that is very low in Toyota 4x4 and parts for them lol!

IIRC the 4 door beds are shorter because the cab is longer. but If your not going to use it for hardcore stuff you could just extend the frame a lil and move the bed back.

Well my plan is for a tube or flat bed, I really just need to locate a cab, I am goin to use my current wiring harness under the dash of the crew cab so I don't really have to do much wiring. Thank you for that number it's not really close to me or my truck but it may be worth a trip for the right price!

so i called that yard and they had a cab for $700 stripped, they said it had light skin damage, turns out it had heavy structural damage and looked horrible in the pics they sent me, that's lame its harder then i thought to find a cab

with a couple of good buddies it can be done in a half day or so. figure a few hours to strip and remove each cab.

might be hard finding buddies lol since i live in texas at the moment (army) i am frome oregon, and the truck is at my mother in laws house in colorado lol

any updates? I'm helpin a buddy do a cab swap on a taco, hes just taking his time, we did a cab swap on his 3rd gen in a weekend, started friday night around 7pm he had it driving sunday afternoon.
