The proper way to attach YouTube videos is to use the following code:
[youtube]...[/youtube]
You don't have to type this in if you are doing a full reply as you can click on the YT icon,
, otherwise you'll have to type it in by hand when using the Quick Reply box.
The code is very basic and I believe only works with the most simple URL. Here are two examples from posts above:
[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEY3egPdcpY[/youtube]
[youtube]http://youtu.be/XZptdxv9MII[/youtube]
One method used
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=###ID### and the other used
http://youtu.be/###ID###. Both are valid and output the same way on our forum. If you get a URL that has a &ref= (denotes a referrer) or a &list= (denotes that the video is part of a playlist) or the like, just remove all that crap and only keep the v= section which is the Video ID. Also, if you have a secure URL (one that begins with "http
s"), you'll need to remove the "s" from "https" in order for it to embed properly.
