On the cherokee it it not recomended to flat tow without damaging the trans and tcase, you must remove the driveshafts front and rear unless you have hubs. Even with the auto hub one axle will still spin.

Just make sure to leave the ignition in an open position so that the steering does not lock. If you forget you will end up dragging your vehicle down the street. I forgot, once on my Samurai.  :driving: :lipsrsealed: :slap:

lol thanks a bunch  8) i also have a 1980 toy 2wd 4spd, would i just have to turn the key on to tow that one or is there more involved?
one thing i forgot to mention was my jeep has a 5spd, would i still have to take out the drive-lines in it with the 5spd?

YES....Get a trailer and tow it. Think about how long it will take to remove and reinstall drive shafts ever time you want to use the Toy or the heep.   The 5spd would be worse then the Auto because most times the gears and bearing that end up spinning are not going to receive enough oil to properly lube them.

whats cool is with the trailer, its always there... yeah its one more thing sitting in the yard, BUT if your jeep breaks down, you can go get it with the toyota and the trailer (yeah I know 40mph in 3rd gear sucks but would get you home)
and its swappable, you dont have to figure this out if you get another rig
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.
