so i used a rockstomper 1k pound hinge to make a swing out tire carrier for my subaru

the subaru has a 3 inch lift, and 215/75/16 all terrains. for those of you that dont know, that is a BIG ASS tire for a subie

so far two thumbs up on the hinge, well made, and beefy

Did you build the lift yourself or buy it? I've been looking into Scoobie lifts and would like to do it to a Forester someday.

i built it, but they do make bolt ons, springs, ect for them.

the silly thing has 11 inches of ground clearance at the diffs

i revised teh latch to use a 1984 toyota taigate latch, way better :
