Speedaway motors has a good but cheap one for the circle track guys.  I have one and have used it to freshen up factory sipes and grooves with a 1/8 inch knife.  You could do alot more with bigger knives.

i have been dink'n round with my arc welder and some ground down sawzall blades... seems to work decently but i need to figure something tougher out to hold the blade. i will post a vid or something when i make it work...

depending on what you need you could always do what i did to my old boggers.... use a wood chesil or make your own.. heat... remove tread... repeat

took me 15 min to do the outside tread on a 33" bogger... so i figure 30 min a bogger.... will be faster now that i made two, so i can heat one while i cut with another.....

made the tool out of a old bent sami leaf spring i had layn round

Those are some huge welds!

I bought an ideal groover used off of ebay a few years back. Picked it up for $25, bought some new blades for it and have been happy ever since. I grooved all 4 of my 38's in under an hour.

You can pick up new blades and heads off ebay for pretty cheap too.

Not sure who makes it but we have a tire groover that we use to cut our 37inch bfg projects for our class1 car that we race. Amazing how much it helps. Don't have any pics of the tires though

How hot are you getting It?

just using a propane torch like this.....

just aim it down and put the chisel under it and let warm for a couple.... not glowing or nothing.... a 5 min preheat would do good. then cut a couple then go back for a min then another couple lugs... thats why i made another one.. just lay it under the heat while your cutting the other one..

here is a vid i found that made me do this.. and yes ... it works that fast... cept i musta got mine hotter cause mine cut better....(maybe mine was sharper)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/IGNPjp0Feq4?fs=1&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/IGNPjp0Feq4?fs=1&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

every place i have been, they have said especially on tsl's that it makes the tire perform so much better.... i dont doubt it as those big tread blocks can finally flex now.....

i just want to be able to get some more tread/life out of my tires.... so i need a groover to take the rubber down to the skin...
sorta like these infamous tires

bleakhorizon,  i wouldnt have removed those longer lugs but would have skinned the inner areas to give it a deeper groove

One of the best mods you can do to a bogger is remove the small lugs. Aswell as V cut the bigger blocks

yea.... i only took the short ones off... the pic above is from a thread on the PBB... the guy who owns fatgirl had a new buggy made and had those cut boggers on it...

Im prob just gona buy the cheap tire groover so i can cut more into the base rubber and make the tread blocks "deeper".... if i destroy a tire its not a big deal... i got em for freeeeeeee :) lol
