LOST TOOL BAG ON RUBICON
« on: Jun 28, 2010, 12:41:07 PM »
I lost my husky tool bag full of tools. Very large and very heavy lots of tools and some spare parts. It is grey and black. I lost it somewhere between little sluice box and big sluice. I ran into someone from Red bluff that had a broken rear d-line and broken birfield that I pulled al the way back to little sluice box. If someone has found or finds it I would really like it back. I'm sure I can come up with some insentive for the return of my tool bag.   Thanx,  Brent Wade

That really sucks. My tools are near and dear to my heart... I hope you're able to track them down.

When and if you do get them back. a little bit of advice is to engrave your initials and the last 4 of your social so if they do get caught with them, its an instant bust...

Very true. I'd like to give people out there more respect than stooping to steeling tools.

You can do what i have done is put your drivers licence on them, its a bit time consuming but worth it in the long run if something happens. I have personally retrieved several tools from other mechanics that work with me in the last 20 years and straight called them on it when ive told them my drivers licence is on the tool.. The look on their face is priceless!!!

if someone is going to steal your tools, they probably have a grinder... its easy to remove engraving and not render the tool useless

Not if you also engrave it where most dont know where to look. It is time consuming but it can help. Tho I find the best way to well not really avoid it but make it less heart breaking is to go to the flee market and buy a set just for the trail.
Anyways brent hope they turn up.  Tho you might want to post on pirate and ih8mud if you havent already.

The bad thing about that is that there's not too many honest people out there anymore.
I hope you find it, as we all know or have experienced...tools are very expensive.

VERY EXPENSIVE!! I spent about $500 just replacing a trail tool bag.

It was a brown LWB single cab Toy truck on 35" MTR's. I truly belive this guy picked up my off my rig when he was behind me. He was a younger guy. He broke a front axle and rear D-line and I pulled him from Big Sluce to little Sluce. The guy that was with him was on leave from the Marine corps. He had just got out of boot camp. I'd be willing to drive up there to beat the hell out of someone for taking my took bag.
