Attempted break in, Bakersfield
« on: Mar 16, 2010, 10:58:38 PM »
Came out of my house in bakersfield the other morning to get into my truck to go to work and noticed the doorlock on the passenger side front door had been punched out.  This is really ticks me off :maddest:.  I finally got around to It today to put it back together and they yanked and bent all the rods inside the door like they were trying to pop it open or something and now the door is jacked up.  just a few months ago my neighbor had his tires slashed on his truck.  almost makes me want to set up some kind of a decoy and see if i can catch these idiots. i guess i'm more venting than anything right now.

Just leave your windows down on the truck or something and sit inside and watch with your rifle and when they come by...BOOOM!! That should scare em..

No bueno. Sounds like my neighborhood.. i live in clovis in a nice new neighborhood and my sisters truck was broken into in our driveway, the neighbors truck was broken into in their driveway, a mini around the corner had the gas syphoned, and at least a dozen cars have been egged. this all happened within a week of each other so we told the cops to patrol more but to no avail. I hate theifs and vandalizers. oh and my truck was keyed and they broke the rear latch on my window. im debating about setting up security lights and a camera.

I live on the good side of town, as far south west as you can get, but then again, i guess thieves wouldn't try to rob someone on the bad side of town.  hmmm...... leaving my windows down sounds really tempting.  I called the cops and they said they would come out to take a police report and i also asked them if they could send some out to patrol but i have yet to see or hear from them.

ya dont hold your breathe for the cops. its a good idea just to get it on file though. ive started to sleep with my bedroom window open so i can hear people if the come up to my house and i leave a bb gun ready just to scare them off. It worked. I chased one guy away but i have a bad knee so i didnt catch him, but i havent had a problem since. -knock on wood-

Are you dealing with the Kern County Sheriff or Bakersfield Police?   (It's really mixed up trying to figure that out, my parents live in Bakersfield (SouthWest))

BPD
I work with a guy thats a Kern County Sherrif and also another guy that is BPD and they both said don't count on them coming out, they have more important things to worry about, which is understandable.  I wasn't really expecting them to come out, just wanted it on file just incase something was to happen.

well, i'm guessing it was the same guy.  came back again.  this time i ran outside because my dogs were barking and a guy dressed all in black was standing right next to my truck!  he jumped on a bike and took off.  it would have been pointless to try chasing him being he was on a bike.  the next morning, i found a ghetto coat hanger stuck in my door.  this is getting old fast!  i called bpd and told them that if they didn't start patroling my street more often it was going to end up in someone being shot.  about an hour later, a bpd officer was at my door asking me what was going on.  now i get an officer that comes through between 11.30 and 12am.  lets see if that helps.

so, they came back again :shocking:!!!!!!! this time, i was able to get a vehicle description, but no license plate.   :censored:saturday night, about 12am, lowered honda civic, coffee can exhaust, lowered, with 4 guys in it.  i was having my birthday party saturday night and they came back with while there was a bunch of people in the house.  they seem to be really determined.  called the cops again, they were came out and took another police report.  i forgot to mention, someone stole the license plate off of my wifes dodge saturday while it was parked in front of the house. so yesterday i wrote a letter to all the neighbors letting them know what was going on, come to find out, i'm not the only one.  they broke out the back window on a truck two doors down, didn't get anything, broke into the neighbors trunk accross the street and stole his stereo, and also broke into another car a few doors down and stole a lady's purse.  so now,  my truck is set up as bait, and will be for a while.  lets see what happens.  :snapshot::jail:

lol, we should have just sat out in front of my house instead of going hunting yesterday.  probably would have had a better chance of shooting something.   :behindwall:

Better Yet, instead of sitting out front, we should put a walker texas ranger light bar on the dodge and sit a few houses down and box that rice burner in the coldasac   :driving:

Since you have metal door handles. lets hook up a hot wire box to it so they will get a nice jolt when grabbing the door handle... dont you have an extra one laying around? you do have horses and all....
