Got the top pieces fitted better so they are now tacked in.
I will have to find another wreck to fill in the missing pieces to complete.
A few more pics to show ya how it will look.

Got some paint on the quarters and am messin with the flares again, they are mini truck flares a pair to make each side.
Shortened up the straps and installed the fuel tank.
Haven't felt like welding so i have done little with the window frame.

A little easier than it sounds, it has to be pulled out on the jack only after the shackle bolts are pulled.
Kind of like building an airplane in the basement.

Yeah, it looks close to hitting on top, can you get it out by letting some air out of the tires? The shackle + jack deal sounds like a lot of work..

Nope, it has to go right down to the rotors to get through the door.

Dang, you'd really have to have a good reason to drag it out to go through all of that! I wonder if you could use a pair of come a longs and chains to draw down and secure the suspension?

How are you welding your sheet metal, I've always had problems burning through with mig

Ya I'll give the spot weld deal a try, Ive always tried to keep a bead going. If my cruiser ends up with a bunch of blast holes in in I'll just blame it on a Klingon attack!

Kind of trips me out that the donor truck had it's roof replaced. Kudos for using factory parts to reconstruct the roof pillars instead of cobbng it together with angle iron or something. I thnk this is what I like most about your rig, it looks like it came from the factory this way.
I'd love to see the dealer option window sticker on this one!

That was a shock, i had been wanting to remove the rear door/s for a long time but knew the roll up window frame had to go.
Until i had a plan to make it look factory i was not going to do it.
The outside framing is done but the inside i will have to make forms and shape the metal to finish it.
DOONER, i also have a chunk of brass that i place behind the area i am welding when possible, this absorbs some of the heat helping with the burn through issue.
