Thanks FFC.

They found the truck...or at least some of it.  Sounds like the tires and wheels are gone for sure, tough to tell what else is missing.  Thanks to everyone for keeping an eye out.

Well, I'm glad they found it. Hope the tires and rims are all that's gone.

We picked up the truck yesterday.  It's in remarkably good shape all things considered.  They took the tires, wheels, and everything out of the glove compartment and center console.  The brakes aren't in great shape since the towing company just drug it on the drums/rotors to get it on and off of the truck.  No damage to the locks or ignition so they likely had a shaved key.  When the police found it, it was locked.

It was found near the intersection of White Rock and Joerger in El Dorado Hills. Based on a guess on when he filled the truck with gas, it looks like they drove it straight there and dumped it.

Since the PD didn't notify him that it was towed in time, the City covered the towing and impound fees.  It pays to read the vehicle code every now and then.
