I dont have a lot of tech stuff on this build or pics for that matter. Here's what I got started.

DD, 22R, L52HD, 35"s, All pro/Marlin Hysteer, 529's, Aussie Locker in rear only. 5" All Pro springs and 5" shackles. Just purpose built and dependable. A/C blows like ice too... www.4x4HIM.org

What are your folks ideas on how to "secure" the tires on the front. I have tie straps but, I want to make something that'll lock'em down.

Drawings and descriptions would be very helpful, thanks

For the tie straps on the spares, add another horizontal strap..............

I got a spare rearend laying around that you can come get and cut up to make like a t bar to mount the tires on an axle. I tried to illustrate my idea. It's not to scale or very good for that matter but I think you get the idea. I don't even know if you would have enough room to mount your tires this way.

very cool... looks like your trailer build got finished a lot faster than mine!  I've always liked the dual spares on the desert type trucks, but always thought id be jinxing myself to have 2 blowouts in 1 day if i carried 2 spares.

Hey, seeing that you have easy access to the front wall of that bed, you mind telling me if theres any other fasteners besides the 3 bolts up the inside of each bedside holding that wall on there?  I know theres some silicone adhesive or something, but im wonderin if theres some other bolts along the bottom im missing, cause i cant get mine to budge!

narrow the axle as shown and leave the third in too so you will have a spare

I really have to make sure most of the weight is at the front half of the bed. it tends to fishtail at about 45mph if the weight is not distributed properly.  I'm planning on putting a toolbox/fuel tank on the tongue to help with this. I hauled a full load of firewood and it started swaying at 50mph.

Sorry I took so long to respond. Busy with school finals and such. The lower part has a lip that is spot welded all along the bottom. It may be easier to remove the bed(a few bolts)and drill them out for a "cleaner" build.

No worries, luckily my finals were done over a week ago now...

Good to know, i will stop trying to force it off now.  Since i will need to cut the bedwall to fit INSIDE the bed instead of infront of it anyway, i might just flush-cut it... ill end the hijack, this belongs in my supercab thread.

Anyway, for your spares i think the orientation you have is the best, just maybe needs more securing.  The narrowed axle idea is cool but looks like it could have an excessively high center of gravity.

I installed 3" overload/lift leaf springs and some old rancho 5000 shocks. Since there isn't really any "vehicle" weight load, the ride height is great and very stiff.  Stiff enough to not sway when loaded and scooting down the freeway at 70mph plus. As far as the wiring, I used a seperate(#2) trailer connection. Wired wire for wire to match the stock wiring.  It looks kinda strange to see two trailer hook ups on my truck, but it works great. I have the one for this trailer and just a basic hook up for a "normal" trailer. I'm still not done though. I've got some "fine" tuning to do yet. Hope ya"ll enjoy the transformation pics. I had fun building this thing.

Even with "a lot of little ends to tie up" this thing is pretty slick. I still really want one of these for a daily.

Looks good, but is it legal to run a vehicle axle under a trailer in Arizona.  I know here in CA it's not.

Are you positive on that?  And that every county in CA is the same?  I see tons of bed trailers on truck axles being pulled around.  If thats true im screwed on registering mine

I'm gonna take this thing over to the inspection station and see what they have to say about it, "officially".
