How hard is it to push in your clutch petal?

I bought my 98 tacoma truck 3.4 L 4x4 TRD that had 153K miles when i bought it and am now at 160K miles.  The clutch petal has always been very stiff. I just replaced the clutch because one of my pressure plate fingers broke off.  I put in a marlin 1200 lb clutch.  The clutch used to dissengage close to the floor and now dissengages at the top of the petal.  It was also very stiff and is now not very hard to press.  I just wanted to know if this was normal for the clutch?

Marlin designed his clutch to be smooth and easy on the leg.  Mine is like butter!  Yes Nod

If you don't like where the clutch engages, just adjust it.  Look on the back of the clutch pedal, there should be a threaded rod adjuster.
