to much technical :pokinit:, just get a dana 70 rear or 14b, and kingpin 60 front and go from there. no hastle, you can find them everywhere, and you wont be disappointed. a 60 rear would be a complete waste of time for what your doing with it. plus its not like a 60 rear is any cheaper than  14b or 70rear. so what would be the point. i would also say that 5.38s in a 14bolt and 60 front would be plenty good since your running a bigger motor. dont see why you would need 717s for something that only sees snow and is getting a bigger engine, if you were gonna keep the 22re i would say yes but since your up sizing the engine i dont see it being necessary.

I want to be reved up, to have that torque.
it will be a stock more than likely worn 350
with that big of tires I think it will be perfect.
my goal is so low there will be minimum tire spin.

LM7!!!!! its the Cast Iron version of the LS1, Im either going TBI 5.7 or the 5.7 LM7. you can pump up the ponys by doing an intake mani swap from an LS1 to the LM7 and gain some :pokinit:. the LM7 is the same exact engine overall with a few minor differences. the comp ratio on the LS1 is a little higher and its all aluminum of course. and like half the price in yards. I learned a lot from the LS Episode on Extreme 4x4 recently.

Rock on Mayberry!

totally glad i found this build thread again! im doing the exact same thing as you! after much looking, i FINALLY found a 2nd gen runner for wicked cheap! gunna chop the rear and weld a truck cab rear onto it! but, instead of tube, im going to build a mini box :)

thank you for posting so many pictures of the process of grafting a truck back onto a 4runner!

haha! she's already in the shop :P

you cut JUST infront of the gas filler door, right?

how was the headroom in the rear? cause i was kinda mocking up where i thought i would need to cut, and with me sitting comfortably back, my head goes about 2" into where the side glass starts... but im also 6'2" haha!

do you think you could do me a huge favor? do you think you could take a picture of your back seats? do they rest flush with the back of the cab? or is there any space behind them?

they latch but you will have to put some pressure on them, cause they will touch the rear
1/4" before latching
its been a while ago and im forgetfull, just examine my pics closely.
i tryed to get lots of pics, wanted a good kinda step by step for the next person

come to think of it, I had to fill in about 1/2- 3/4 " where there was the gap from the gas lid

i cant find my camera cord but i might go buy one today if you notice how the seat rests back a little bit the top of the seat touches the back of the cab but that leaves a little space behind the seat at the bottom
