I am thinking of going wider, its kinda a biased question but is wider better for snow, mud, and rocks? thats mostly what I see along with high mtn trails, and wooded areas.
I was thinking of a 15x12 but I think thats too wide of what I've been reading so a 15x10 to help widen the stance more? I guess my question would be how wide of a tire can I fit on a 10'' And is it worth it or just save up for beadlocks on the a 8'' wheel which would make it a 9''. Btw the truck has stock suspension.

I prefer 10's to 8's.  The wider rims flatten out the  tire more when aired down in the snow.  I haven't lost a bead in the snow since gong to 10's on either my BFG AT's or the Exterrains on my other rig.

The 10's will also give you a wider stance for a better center of gravity over 8's.

Since you aren't running beadlocks right now, you could always pick up a set of of used 15x10's and run them.see how they work, shouldn't cost you more than about $100.

It is generally recommended to not runt tires more than 4" wider than the rims.

am thinking of 15x8's with the extra inch of the beadlock will be 9'' and if i add it to 10'' wheel it will be 11'' and i dont want that i dont think, why only 4'' wider than the wheel? i've seen other go to least a 14.50 wide on 8''?

The 4
' is generally speaking.  A buddy of mine was running 12.50's on stock 7's, and had little trouble until dropping below 10lbs.  After blowing 3 beads on one weekend snow trip, he went w/8" bead locks.

running too wide of a tire for the wheel sucks because aired down the tire doesnt have enough pressure to keep the seat. Lateral force has more effect on pulling on the tire and the already crazy angle on the bead will pull it off easier then if the bead and side wall was closer to straight up and down.

The example i have is a 14.5 on an 8 and at 15-20 psi a friend of mine slid down and the tire caught a rock so the tread grabs the rock and pulls the tire away from the truck. The inner bead stands almost straight up while this is going on and the outer bead rolls because of the low pressure and the tire mounting surface being so narrow. The wheel walks right off the seat of the wheel because its aimed to the inside and when the tire lost traction on the rock and got back to snow it tried to move back to centered spot and that outer bead folded up and lost all air pressure and the seat. Reseating tires is not bad on the trail but its a pain. 14.5 on a 10 is ok and i have got down to 3 psi in the snow with no locks and been fine. my 12.5.s with 8inch wheels i run 10 on the dry and have been 2-3 psi in the snow and been cool but my truck was pretty light with stiff sidewalls.
