Definitely planning on a track bar. I had one with the FJ60 housing but since getting the 14 bolt in I haven't gotten around to it. I will be turning the pinion up next week so I can run a CV rear shaft then after that I will be working on a track bar. Hopefully get it done before my upcoming trips but I don't know if I'll have the time.

I really dig all the custom machine work that you do, you've come up with some real innovative solutions. Did you ever figure out why that wheel bearing let go?

It's an R150F with the 3.83 1st gear. It drives so much nicer than the 465 did and there is still plenty of gearing for the trail.

idle down and back up.

Now theres plenty of choices for some wheel speed too.  :driving:

Very cool footage!  Love seeing your truly family-sized rig crawl everything with so much ease.  You gotta be loving the new mods--Airlockers and an adapted R150 to boot!   After the tranny swap, you must have felt like:  "Wow, now I remember what it's like to wheel with 'second' and fifth gear!!!"

I’ll apologize in advance, but from my typically uninformed perspective, I'd imagine your set up would be the perfect substitute for anyone who wants an H55F.  As my family grows and the 4Runner seems to shrink, I pine away for the day I might upgrade to a nice 60 or 80 series with a five speed and a toy box.  A set up like yours behind a 3FE 80 series would be pretty sweet for sure.  I just saw on IH8Mud a recent (April of 2010) H42 swap into a 92 Landcruiser:
http://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/375292-h42-four-speed-manual-transmission-into-1992-fj80.html
I bet that guy would love to see what you did.  Are you guys adding these adaptors to the :turtle: line-up or is this a one-off mod?

Keep the pics and especially the vids rolling!  Everyone loves this 60.

It's an R150F

That was my first guess but I did not see the forward shift base. Anyways Looks good.  :beerchug:

Unfortunately there's not much to see. It's collecting dust and holding down the trailer.
In the coming months there will be many changes on my pile. 8)

I have an r150/151f hybrid setting in my garage waiting for the day that it can become a r150/151f/ax15 hybrid and go into my cruiser. Any chance this adapter will become available as a kit???

A month or so back I finally got to put one of these into my pile....

And heres what we ended up with.

Resurrecting a several year old post out of dire necessity....

Fred, or anyone from Marlin Crawler, is it still possible to build one of these???

I am badly wanting a cruiser split case mated to an R150F or R151F transmission (mated to a VW 1.9mTDI tuned for185hp and 265ft-lbs...

From another forum, same project:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/freds40-builds-a-60.221512/page-39#post-5513347
R150F 1988-91
1st 3.830
2nd 2.062
3rd 1.436
4th 1.000
5thj 0.838
Rev 4.220

It can be adapted back to my Toy Box with our 3.0 adapter plate and a new input on the case so that was easy.
