MC lift install HELP in Virginia
« on: Sep 24, 2008, 08:46:25 AM »
So I found a place in VA about an hr from me called ironpigoffroad.com that does SAS and such. They estimated $1,500 to install a lift such as MC 4inch with mounting the IFS box ect. It makes me sick to see everyone be able to do theres themselves. There is a nice hobby shop on my base with really nice welding equipment but they wont let you weld on vehicles. 24 bay garage. Any tool you could think of but let you weld on a truck! Sucks!!!!! I cant even reinforce my allpro front pumper to the frame. And not using my winch with just 4 bolts holding it on. :stopit:

What would it cost out west were most of you guys are? This places is $85hr which is actually cheaper than most hourly rates of garages in this area. I know it is allot of work so it is probably not a bad deal.

That sounds about right as far as cost.  Covers about 18 hours worth of work, which is prolly close enough, considering they'll prolly use 2 guys at least.

Yeah if you don't have the skills/equipment or any friends with the skills/equipment that sounds about right. Where I live all the shops charge $96 an hour so technically that is a pretty good hourly labor price. I would post a help wanted add on here and see if anyone in your area with the right stuff can help you out. Labor adds up really quick at shops.

Yeah, I only paid 1,200 for the 4runner with no rust and only 160k on the original 22re motor. I had a 91,94 and this is by far my favorite.
