My 83 yoda longbed DD
« on: Jul 16, 2008, 10:02:41 PM »
so this is my first thread and i'm not to sure how to start it. But you know what i'll try!

anyways i got a 83 yoda longbed. i just had a brand new 22R put in. and it has a good amount of suspension work done on it. i got at least 6" lift in the front and chevys with 3" blocks in the rear.

i want to get rid of the blocks in the rear and i dont want super long shackles. so i've been trying to find some 63" chevy lift springs of at least 4" of lift. i have found a couple but i cannot find any with out the front lift kit. i just want the chevy lift springs!

Try these  http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/suspension/springs.htm      :yesnod:

yeah  :turtle: got some but i really want to get the 63" lifted 1/2 ton chevy springs. #1 they are 1/2 ton springs  #2 i already have had my spring and shackle mount moved for the stock 1/2 ton springs and #3  :turtle: cost a lot. i almost could buy a whole lift kit for a chevy with the 1/2 ton springs for the price of the marlin springs. and my friend has the  :turtle: 5" springs and is not to happy with them. :headscratch: i don't know why. but, he is jealous of my chevys and that they cost me $70 for the pair not $350. i'm just kinda  :juggle: my ideas and options right now. thanks a lot for your opinion Jon.  :beerchug:

Tell your friend our springs take a long time to break in.  :turtle:  How much weight does he have in the bed, or does he even have a bed?  If he wants to speed things up he can remove leaves, BigMike did this.   :turtle3:

i found a good deal on some rear 6" all pro long travel springs that are broken in.  i dont want 6 inches of suspension lift though so im thinking of buying them and removing a leaf or two and getting them down to around 5 inches or a little less. he wants 150$ for the set :dunno:

thanks jon i'll mention that to him. he really loves my 6" all pro springs(front) and my chevys (Stock 1/2 ton w/ chopped over load in rear.) and tim, you only think you flex more just cuz you bottomed out your shocks that are too long in the front. and yes your truck can go farther i know that.

Tim and I made a front bumper and it's nice. i hella like it :yesnod: it is really simple cuz it's my first one i ever designed :gap: tim did all the  :flamer: and i did most of the cutting and welding prep. i designed the whole thing as we were going. it was hella fun. then we vented :beerchug: and vented :beerchug: and vented

and then it was mounted! :eyebrow: i put better turn signals on it but got no pics yet. this will have to make you happy for now. :yesnod:
