Tire Carrier Rear Bumper
« on: May 27, 2008, 01:39:16 PM »
Want some ideas for building a rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier bumper.  My truck is an '82 4x4LB with a shell on it.  I like the shell, hence the reason for the bumper idea.   :usa:

Post pictures, drawings or whatever.  I have some scrap steel I can start using to build one.

Here is a link that could give you an idea and with a few mods you could make it work for your application.

I'm looking to build a swing-out tire carrier off of a rear tube bumper.  Anybody have any designs on how to mate a swing-out hinge to round tubing?

I'm actually trying to figure how to mount one of those hinges to a tube bumper similar to a Marlin bumper.  I've seen hinges used in square tubing bumpers but haven't seen one in a round tube bumper.
