May 31st, 2008So the previous weekend when I took her out for my first wheeling trip with the new front end (see pictures in the wet mud from the previous page), I aired down locked my hubs in, and proceeded in 2WD. So we start wheeling along a dirt road, a couple of rocks here and there, nothing too serious, then it gets a bit steeper and there are some small rocks on a short uphill climb. I Crawl up it slowly in 1st gear + 4.70:1 and immediately get stuck. So I shift the twin stick in for 4WD and begin slipping the clutch. Again I'm still stuck. I start thinking.... whaaaaa these are just basic rocks, what is the deal. Now it was wet but certainly this was no obstacle for my truck.TURBO was riding shotgun and he starts saying "Hey man quit playing around and let's go!" and I was like, "wow this is weird, something doesn't feel right". So I flip the switch to power up my E-Locker circuit and engage the rear end. Now the truck feels like it is trying to climb but it's still not going anywhere. I'm thinking to myself, "why in the world can't I climb this even in 4WD + rear locked, this is crazy" so I flip the switch for the front locker and then immediately I climb up.So I look over at TURBO and I say, "dude, what the heck was that?" and he said, "Stop playing around in 2WD, you need to use 4WD for a steep hill with wet and slippery rocks." And I said, "I was in 4WD + rear locked + front locked!!"Now at this time Bevin is waaaaaaay up the trail and wondering where I am. So he get's on the CB and starts shouting out at me telling me to stop mess'n around and the day is young and we gotta get moving. So I catch up to Bevin and we keep going. Now at this time I start noticing that it is extremely difficult to turn to the right but super easy to turn to the left. It gets worse and worse and worse. So I disengage 4WD and go as far as I can in 2WD not knowing what is going on.Next set of rocks comes up and I engage 4WD and start to climb and I notice my front drivers side tire is not turning. So I'm like, "come awn girl" but still nothing. So.. I hate using my lockers so much, but I had to engage the front locker. Still....Nothing. I look over at TURBO and I say, "Hey, is the front passengers tire turning?" and he says, "Yes." Then I unlock the front end and ask the same question and he replies with "No." It was then I realized something very bad had happened, far worse than what you are thinking.
