92 toyota pickup SAS *PICS of the new Taco*
« on: Apr 15, 2008, 11:00:22 AM »
This is my first time doing a build. im going to sas it with the trail gear ifs eliminator kit. i got the kit and a axle for $500 from a buddy of mine.
like i said i have never done this before so the more feedback the better. here are some pics of the truck when i got it, and what i did yesterday. i have had the truck for about 2 weeks now, and im already sick of the ifs. (my last truck was an 85). it has 3" blocks in the back with stock springs and custom 10" shackels. it has a 2" body lift with 35's. i have 37's for it just need the gears now. and i want to put 63's chevy on the rear on top of those blocks. do you think that would make it level with the front? im using marlin crawler 4" springs instead of the trail gear ones. just because thats what i have.

reading your first post was hilarious. here is my build up. you might want to check it out since your starting out EXACTLY how i did. ive changed up a lot of things since 3 years ago but here you go. http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=15616.0

as far as the 3" block on the back with the 63s, yes it should sit dead level, mine did. i used the double shackle setup forever, toy shackle and chevy shackle, and yes i also ran the 4" marlin springs up front for 3 solid years till a few months ago. now its toy rears mixed in with them. i also started out with 35 BFG muds then got some 37 mtrs next. just read through my thread our trucks are very similar. cya

edit: dont add some box tubing to lower the hanger, youll regret it. you already have a 2" BL. just weld the hanger on and use the shackles they give you. your truck will be as tall as a sky scraper, it will suck.

yeah that is the harbor freight one.
it works for me. i havent had any trouble with it except with the trany adapter, it flops over if you jack it too low. other than that ive been pretty happy with it.
and as for the blacks, i hear they are good to use if you run the 63's because how you have the front spring hanger on the low part of the frame it gets it up more to aviod hitting it on rocks.
im not sure though? ???

if i were you id move the rear spring hangar back and run a longer single shackle. that or just run the toy/chevy double shackle setup. front spring hanger? as in the front hanger for the rear springs, or the front springs?
