Toy Fiberglass hoods
« on: Jul 01, 2004, 11:49:02 PM »
I was :bull crap: with my pops and he told me someone makes a fiberglass hood for the 1st gen pickups. He forgot who made it and told me to ask Chris, but Im too lazy and would rather ask it here at the comfort of my computer.

So what's up? Who's the company that is making fiberglass hoods for our rigs and what do they sell for?

Thanks in advance,
BigMike

Hey! Brian, I just saw your post over on the glass fenders topic and that's the company I remember my dad was talking about. Hannemann. He said he was not sure what the name was but he tried to pronounce it and that's the one. I couldn't remember that for the life of me

So I checked out http://www.hannemannfiberglass.com/page10.html and they only make 'em for 84+

Fiberglass? What do you want fiberglass for?
If you can't weld on it, chuck it!

It takes a FIREBALL to know a FIREBALL

Two words: Weight Reduction

Front end is the heaviest, and the hood is at the top of the truck. So kill two birds with one stone (weight and COG)

cut off unnecessary brackets and remove other stuff - I wonder if a glass hood would even be lighter? Poly yea - and I want a bling bling clear hood but haven't been able to find one yet.

I keep meaning to weigh Mo, I think he needs to go on a diet.

Weight reduction? Have you been drinking from the solvent tank again?
This is a 4wheel drive not an MR2. Besides a little weight on the front helps the climbin on the ledges. Save your $ for something important, you know like sum spinner hub caps or somethin.

Yeah those spinning hubcaps are sick.  My friend has a 86 2WD extra cab longbed Toyota pickup with some 14" spinners.  I'll have to get some pics of it, it's hilarious.  Especially cuz it's so darn long.
