i have a 2003 silverado 3500 crew longbed converted from dually to single rear wheel. only got the dually cause it was a good deal but did not need it so converted it. only about 10k invested. best truck i have ever owned, tows great and fits the whole family and everything you could dream of. Only downside is the turning radius. gets pretty good MPG for a truck that bug around 18-19 on the hwy empty. i daily a 2wd toy so it barely gets driven so i hope it lasts me a good 10-20 years.

I use my 04 dodge 2500 because it lays down tons of power and i can still lay rubber with a full trailer on.  Ha Ha turns heads every time.

I love driving my runner to trails but it’s nice to sit back with the CC on crank the AC and blast some tunes in comfort.

Funny I was looking over this thread and I read a post about an old 6spd cummins and I thought to myself "hey I used to have a truck just like that" then I realized that was my truck

I have a 2004 GMC 1500, but I don't have a trailer yet so the Yota gets driven most of the time to the trails.

I finally built a car trailer and started towing because I get better mileage in my Cummins with a trailer than either of the Toyota's or the jeep I had. And I can easily hold 70+ up any hill I've encountered on the highway.

It's a 95 regular can long bed 2wd dodge diesel with some pump tuning, a turbo, and a built trans

02 dodge 3500 6spd. Cause I like 24v's. Been around them since 98 when my dad bought one and couple years ago when I wanted a tow rig I ended up deciding to stick with what I know and trust. New trailer is 25' load trail tandem dually goose with 5.5' deck on tongue, can carry my rig and any buddy's rig that wants to split cost of fuel

2002 Ford Excursion with the V10. 11k towing capacity, seats 8, 1/2 the price of a Superduty, way cheaper than a diesel rig and you have an 8' enclosed sleeping area in the back.

I am running a 98 12v cummins for a tow rig. It's a very simple engine, standard shift transmission. Very simple and reliable set up (as long as I don't get stupid with the skinny pedal) it gets decent fuel numbers and tows much better than the gas burners I've tried before.

2015 F350 King Ranch or a 2006 34' Four Winds Motorhome depends where we're headed.  18' flatbed trailer for now does the moving of toys until I sack up on the gooseneck to haul 2 rigs with the new truck.  Don't bash me for the new truck.  Sold off the single cab duramax I bought for $3500 for pulling and sold the 1/2 ton 4 door for hauling family and combined into one truck that does it all.  So yes, I'm proud to say I finally bought myself a new truck but the guilt still haunts me every month...  OH and by the way... only 16MPG from the new power stroke.  She does better when she can stretch he legs on some open road.

I know warranty is important on that large of an investment, but once it's ran out if you are in an area where you can delete egr and dpf that 6.7 can come alive!

Yes sir.  I opted out of extended warrantees.  So far, not feeling the need to make any attempts at more power.  Pulls really well, but not nearly as stable pulling a trailer as my Duramax Dually was.

I bought this old, gas guzzling RV, 21', 1988 Ford Frontier, that I call BOB(Big Old Bi#@h). I also was over tent camping and it's great to shower after a long day on the trail. I use a CPAP machine so I need a good power supply.

I don't really need to tow much these days, and normally if I do I use a tow truck driver I know as it is usually cheaper than hiring a trailer. But for when I do, I use my Toyota. It's not particularly efficient when I do, realistically I would be better off with a newer turbo diesel or something. But it doew the job, and I don't care  :shades:

2002 Ford F250 Super Duty  5.4L (2 valve), 4 speed Auto (4R100) 4x4 with 3:73 differentials (Dana 60 7 Sterling 10.5) with 75K on the clock and a Solid body.  The truck has a name, which is  "Truck" ....yeah really original.  Was a former fleet truck for a suburb outside the city of Chicago. Truck is a plain Jane so it has nothing useless like cloth seats, cruise control, power windows locks, fancy radio or AC :hammer: Truck has the plow prep suspension on the front and camper suspension on the rear. It  sits about 1.5-2 inches higher than the regular F250 4x4 and rides like a barrel going over Niagara falls when empty.  It has nice color matched school bus yellow, all  steel locking cap with storage sides and interior lights.  Truck isn't fast  :turtle3: with a loaded trailer but will hold 70 MPH up hill. Truck never squats with load on it (or I haven't hit the loaded weight yet). Truck is the worst winter driving vehicle in  2 or 4 wheel drive I have ever had. The combination of the Firestone Highway heavy service tires and  suspension is so bad in winter it need an exuberant amount of dead weight to get traction. It's probably getting a Eaton or other limited slip in the rear in 2018  :blah:
