A340H?
« on: Dec 10, 2007, 06:14:00 PM »
Am really confused! , I wrote down my vin plate and numbers underneath the hood, and it says i have a A340H, its an 85x-cab with 22re, its right but when i research it to make sure, they say its supposed be with a 3.0? i think most of the info on the net is wrong about the automatics for toys, like 4x4wire they list this trans with a 3.0 for some reason while my vin and plate say otherwise
Plus some say that the A340H is rare and say that it has gear driven t-case which i no it doesnt, and the A340F is the one that is rare too, and is  gear driven and others say the competely oppposite that the A340H is not rare, and is chain driven and the the same would apply for the opposite of the A340F people say.
anyways i just wanted to know how to tell for sure if its a A340H, and why its so hard to find the right info for this trans.
Thanks.

Well they don't have gear a gear driven t-case but a removable .I wen't through all of this already i have what i think is a a340h but out of a 95 t-100 4 banger . Wiring is the same shift linkage the same speed sensor the same. All i did was change bellhousing and shift indacator and got a 3.0 adapter and 4-7 case from marlin good to go. The reason it's hard to
find info is because most people don't know and most yota's are stick plus most have sticks. :headscratch:

i think the a340f  is the earlier  version  and  does NOT have a  removeable  tcase,   the a340h  i think has a removeable tcase  and is the better of the two

if  it says A340H   you should be happy

The t-100 tranny is a cross between the old and the new everyone is always so down on auto's. Mine great besides
keeping it cool i've had no problems and if you get under your'e truck and can remve it you con get an adapter and
run a gear drive.Haven't ran into anybody with duels to see how they stop it but i'm sure they climb as good as a 5 speed. :shocking:
