E-locker troubleshooting
« on: Apr 17, 2007, 09:20:39 PM »
I have a factory hi-pinion third with an e-locker in the front of my f-toy. We blew a fuse this weekend, replaced it and kept wheelin'. now the locker and indicator light stay engaged and on. It was installed and wired by the previous owner so I know that it could be a thousand different things I'm just hoping that someone has a good starting point

I would try pulling the motor and moving the gear rack back and forth by hand to make sure it's moving freely. Is there a chance you bent your housing? If the axle has a side load on it from a tweaked housing it won't allow the collar to move freely back and forth and could be what caused the fuse to blow. Could also be debri etc in the mechinism.

Some times you can get water in the connections at the third member. And the light will stay on. Take them apart and blow them all out. Did that to mine and was all good.

yeah Im wondering if its dirt, or if the bump stop, which hits pretty close to the connections may have damaged something. I guess i need to get off my butt and figure it out!
