Quick run down, I picked up the truck for $600 not running brought it home adjusted the valves and got it running, but the compression is pretty crappy across all four cylinders. The front left corner has damage but is fixable. So now Im tearing her apart.

Went up to Fresno today and dropped by Marlins. 5" trail flex kit, ifs box, front and rear axle service kits, and yukon 5.29 gears front and rear.

So the fun will begin tomorrow.
Anybody want to come by and give me a hand?

I was just measuring up the frame and it looks like its treaked about a half inch from the front end damage. So tomorrow my neighbor is coming by to see if we can get it back straight again. If not I dont know what im going to do.

I might have a free shortbed frame with cab for you in a couple of months if that won't work for you.

pulled the cab and bed to get some measurements on the frame.

and thats when we found out the frame is to jacked up, to use as a DD rig that is. it could be used for a buggy build up, if anybody wants it.

And then I found a donor truck (short bed) with a clean frame. picked it up for $200.

then i lined up the bad frame next to the other truck and pulled the white cab off.

and know im prepping the new frame for the lift.

Got the front hanger on last night

The weather got pretty crappy last night so the build is on hold till the snow and rain stops.

I have to finish welding it, but its up there at least.

and my new welder I picked up last night.

Notch the body mount? why?  It looks like ya removed the body mount when removing the cab. :dunno:  Is that a flux core welder, I used a flux core welder to fix my frame/steering box mount on a blazer I owned. I shure am glad to have a mig now.

So are you gonna use that shortbed on there, hack up that clean long bed, or flatbed it?

I like the name of this build.

I knew a German restaurant one time that was called "Frank-n-Stein."

It was quite humorous...lots of sausage and beer.

Anyway, leave it to me to be off-topic.

Im going to use the short bed possibly, It has a lot of rust spots so hopefully it will sand out. If not I might just go with a flat bed.

I hope that shortbed  will finish out nice.  I don't see too many shortbeds around here - especially clean ones.

got a little more done. I decided to hold off on the 22re swap. so I put the stock motor back in for know. I also got the front axle torn apart and cleaned up, I just have to rebuild the knuckles now.

Also got the cases back in.
