Worst rubicon run ever. Broke a bunch of crap, got sick and had to trailer my truck home. Got on the trail at 11 after acquiring a rod nock on Ice House Rd and everything went bad from there on out. Did get to meet some more cool new people and Chris from 4wd Toyota Owner rode with me and he was a cool guy so it was cool. But heres the list of stuff and the STORY of my broken truck...

Well.... Heres the list of broken stuff. Not all was from rubicon but its broken nontheless....

Motor is blown
alternator is bad
dead battery
broken shock (actually cracked and bent)
cracked frame
possibly bent frame
p/s box plating is bent
hole in front tire
broken housing still
broken hubs (both)
broken O2 sensors (both)
broken motor mounts
i think the new tcase moutns are broken
tail light (It finally fell out)

Ummm thats all i can think of for now. There was a big list.

ButFor the motor blowing.... I was goin up highway 50 from lunch in SLT in 4low, 2nd and 3rd gear, full throttle, losing power and it finally died. The truck died on the worst part and i pulled over in the only place i possibly could have. I then had a brake in traffic so i turned it on (and when it turned on, it bound up and made this aweful, metal on metal and clunking sound, FINALLY started back up and i had it in 4low still first gear full throttle and it was not even running as i pulled across to the other side of the road (like 50 feet at the most) and i turned it off and smoke was coming out from under the hood. So I sat there for 3 hrs calling about 20 people and no one could come get me but Scott (cruzilla) came to the rescue and used his buddy's truck and trailer and towed me back. First the plan was to just get me to his house then my cousin pick me up, bring me to her house and then my buddy pick me up and bring me to my house and pick up my truck on thursday but Scott took me alll the way home. It was awesome. Finally after leaving Rubicon Springs at 7:30am I got back home at 9:15pm. It was a long day.

the only problem was a guy in his pretty jeep how didnt want to scratch it took to long.

that jeep ended up busting his ring and pinion then instead of winching out tried to go out in 2 wheel broke his tierod held the whole trail up for a long time
Yeah, they finally did end up winching it up, it was on the downside of that big rock you have to bank around. They had a guy on either side pushing on the tires to steer it, and were finally able to get it out of the way.
We had to have been stuck there at least 30-40 minutes ourselves and there were at least 20 trucks ahead of us.

But all in all it was a great trip, great meeting everyone we did, looking forward to more stories but of course :worthless:

sheared all 6 studs off my driver side rear axle, had to 3 wheel it out of the way and locktup and I (locktup did all the work really) jimmied the spacer studs in the egged out holes in the axle enough to hold the wheel on. made it the rest of the way out from Buck no problem but was sweatin it. funny thing is, when I was loading my truck Wed night i had of of my spare rear axles in hand but decided not to take it. THANKS JASON!!

Anyone get pics of the Kyle (not sure of screen name, in maroon 3rd gen) and Rocky show? I'd say the 2 best runs thru soup can Friday afternoon. Kyle with no crawler hammering his way to the top and Rocky, LMAO, lined er up at the bottom and just throttled it and held on, got to the top and did a u-turn on the pass side TWO wheels almost saved it then yard sale. Good show!!
YO! whats up kyle. thats me with the maroon 3rd gen. im going to email dave for the pictures. he got 3 good ones of me going up soup. hes the only one i know of that did. im stoked. it was nice meeting you.

I would like to put out a big thank you to marlin!! I broke a birf going up the other line next to thousand dollar hill, he pulled me out and had me follow him to almost the box before he had to go back and help the bronce from blue devil. well i kepf going with the passenger side birf broke taking it very easy well by the time i got down the hill form the box i lost all steering and notcied i sheered all 4 studs off the pass side knuckle. we got the truck up and started taking the tires off when marlin started coming down and offered to help out in my situation. he helped me get some new studs in the knuckle but as we were doing that he notcied the pass side birf was also broken so i pulled out both spare axles and birfs i had and we repplace both and got some new studs in the knuckle and got back out on the way by the time we were doine working on the truck it was about 6 30. i would also like to thank tommy aka 4.3 headache who also stayed with us and follower us out. we didnt get out of the trail until about 8 30. so i would like to thank marlin alot for staying and helping me out and getting my truck back out and get it back to the trailer. so thanks marlin alot it was well appreciated! here is a couple pics before the broken birf and as we are working on the truck.

I always thought that line was the easy line, i never had a problem with it.  The hillclimb always gave me trouble since it was slippery.
