HOOD VENT

OK, so with all the hood vent stuff going on lately i deiced to go for it and make one. I started last night with 20g steel, metal shears, and a Sharpe. Then i marked the steel, plugged in the shears and zipped off the excess. I then slapped it in the sheet metal brake and bent up a hood scoop (12"x18"). The scoop will go on like a Calinduction hood (back wards scoop). I marked the hood and cut out a hole. I than welded the scoop in with my trusty miller 175 cleaned up what need to be and used some filler to smooth out the welds before i paint tonight. Hear are some pic from my phone.

I got it finished and put back on here are some pics  the first pic is from inside the cab. It should help keep it cooler until i get my new touras fan. I have not had a fan on her for a little over 2 weeks, its my DD also. The temp has stayed under 200* even when it was 100* out, just keep moving and its all grave

ya i should moved it forwords a little but o-well. The hood is actually stiffer than it was with the supports, but that is most like because i tacked the supports down after i cut them, unlike using glue like the factory did. Its not crooked it is my awesome paint job on the vent, i brought the green paint down about 2" off the vent :hammer: or 2" on the driver side and 2 1/4" on the passenger side  my eye ball is not as Laval as it once was :dunno:  :_oops: i need to fix that.

Cowl Induction...with a "w"!
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5
