I never seem to have the camera with me when I'm working on he Cruiser, but today I did.  I stared in on one of the most agonizing parts of this build, narrowing the 60.  The way I'm doing it is nothing new.  Taking 5" out to fit the frame rails and more closely match the rear.  I used a pipe cutter to score the tube and a cut-off wheel to finish it off.  The tubes are thick a$$ $hit.

PS. I just jiggled my Christmas present from the wife, it's heavy and clunky, I think it's a 465/mini adapter!  Rocking Out

More progress today before the Holiday festivities begin.

Got the tube out of the 'C' and did some grinding on it.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.

I'll plan on getting it back on the tube on Monday.  I'll have a professional welder friend weld it back on.  Money well spent IMO.

I got the 'C' back on.  That was tough.  I ended up honing the inside and polishing the tube until the oven trick worked.  Ill drop it off at my welder's place Thursday.

Got the 'C' welded on and set it up under the front.  The pinion angle is close but I will make the final call on that when I get more weight on the front.

The rear is about in its final location and the wheel base is about 105"  Big Thumb Up.  I need to finish getting the rear disk brakes put together this weekend and order the front rebuild kits.  Mostly boring stuff.  But I will be diving into the 4-link in the next couple weeks or so.

I was hoping to get the rear brakes done this weekend but I ran into some defective parts.  So while I'm waiting to get those back I'm going to mock up the drive train.  Yup yup  Check back tomorrow Thursday for pics.

How flat ya think you'll get the belly? The wife got me the adapter for Christmas so I think I'll throw a 4.7 in it and run it. You going to be working on this every evening this week? I need to drop the trailer off so I didn't know about dropping by and checking it out.

Yes, that's what I'm running now.  I think it's an Advanced Adapter's piece.  It's simple and works well for what it is.

How flat ya think you'll get the belly?

I did a little measuring tonight and I think the belly pan will end up being about 2" below the frame.  It will however be flat all the way across and under the trans.
