New guy, Old truck
« on: Nov 14, 2005, 01:59:25 PM »
Hey guys, you've got another FNG on your hands. I notice that you guys have a lot of smilies. I like that. Anyway, name's Sam, and I hail from Massachusetts. The ride is a 1986 4Runner. It has the 22re. Mine has a snapped timing chain. I am pulling the engine in a week anyway, so I'm not too worried about it. This gives me a winter project to tool on from the warmth of my couch. The truck itself has a set of 4 inch lift springs with 3 inch blocks on top to confuse people. They serve no purpose right now. I also built a set of dual shackles just in case the person wasn't confused enough. I plan on doing a SAS in the spring to make myself an awesome trail rig. If someone wants to let me know how to post a pic, I will put some up. Until then, keep on wheelin, Sam.

Ok, here goes. This is my truck a few weeks before the timing chain snapped. Thanks for the info. Sam.

I dig the tall skinies, thinkin of runnin the 34x10.0s on my 80 next year or so.  Keep us posted on the build, and when you start it you should start a thread in project research and build ups section.  Oh yea, and  :welcome:

I definately plan on building some power in that little thing. I am doing a cam, among other things. I am going to search around for some info on the stroker kit, or I might just put a thread up. Anything you have, hit me up with the info. Thanks, Sam

dont worry about the stroker,  unless you got mucho $$

just have the bottom end fully balanced,  and run good bearings,  then you want a 1200 marlin clutch and a 20R head
