WTF is this axle?

This was under an old Ford Courier.... :headscratch: any ideas?

















Just started snappin...I"s recommended it was out of an early Nissan :headscratch:

Looks like an abortion to me.  :thumbs:

Extremely yota looking bearing hubs and solid rotors with dana 44 knuckles.  Too bad you didnt get a clear pic of the diff cover that'd tell a good bit about it aswell.  but from what I can see on the diff cover it could very well be a dana 30.  The knuckles are deffinately jeep as the passenger side has the hole for the drag link built in.  
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Exactly.  Some genius cut a dana 44 apart at the center section, slipped those tubes over the tubes on a dana 30 and welded it al together.  Same type of abortion as this.  If you could get a better pic of the diff cover it'd be great..  Hold on, you have a 44 dont you..  Is that diff cover flat on both sides and round both top and bottom?

Beats me...that axle was at PnP today and i was very curious as to what it was.  Yeah I have a 44, but I ain't goin outside to look at it right now  :hammerhead:  I'll letcha know in the AM if you're still curious :thumbs:

San Jose North on Commercial off the Berryessa exit.  It's to the right of the entrance... go alll the way to the end of the first row, it's in the corner..last vehicle, first row
