Trying to get a reading from the stock gauge is like trying to get temperature from a clock. Thing is about useless as far as I'm concerned. At start up it's reading as operating temperature. at operating temperature, it's reading operating temperature. Aired down to 9PSI going 65 down the highway it's still dead center even though my DSM gauge is reading 200+.
When I did my swap, I labeled hoses, then followed back to tank. You could try swapping them
Yes just tried that, but now the sun is hiding and it always slows down when the sun isnt out. Its still dripping slowly, not sure if that was still just left in the rubber line or not. What would happen if they were switched? I didn't seem to notice any issues until I filled up my tank. Maybe I overfilled? But I just waited for the pump to click and didn't keep going.
Tomorrow, I'll chase lines down. Are you using the 87 fuel tank
You should not have raw fuel in the canister. You either have a plumbing issue or bad canister. Typically fuel in canister is caused by overfilling tank.
my gauge also sits slightly above half way(185). one of the beauties of the swap is the obd port which allows for monitoring and diagnostics. I use the torque pro app along with gaia/avenza gps for offline mapping
It sounds like you have your vent and return lines mixed up. The return line drops down to the bottom of the tank so if they were mixed up you would be venting liquid gas. The system is designed to vent fumes out the drain tube when the engine is off and there is excessive pressure in the tank, otherwise it's venting fumes into the intake when the engine is running. It's not very easy to flood an evap canister that is under the hood compared to newer vehicles that have them mounted near the gas tank when (over)filling. If you want to compare your connections, I'm in the San Diego area.
My truck runs all day at 187 degrees F.
Are you running 3rz fan.. I'm using 22re fan and fan clutch, with stock 22re fan shroud.
Yes I have the 3rz fan, I thought It would cool better since its WAY bigger.
How's your fan clutch? Also I'm running aluminum radiator. With as shroud. I was going to go 3rz fan route. But when I saw it wouldn't fit into shroud, I decided on 22re fan,fan clutch, and shroud
Im using the RZ clutch, Seems pretty good, yes same here 3 core all aluminum as well. I might just try to make one see if it will make a difference. Or maybe add a pusher fan on the front.
Didn't notice a difference on the temp gauge with or without a shroud.
What gauge are you reading off. The stock gauge in cluster. Or aftermarket.
Autometer spek pro. Cluster gauge is useless
I only have an electric fan on a thermostat switch and mine never breaks 187-188. I suggest to put your 22r shroud and fan back on or go electric.
that's a great find on the 2wd arm. i am currently using an 80 series arm which is working well but i like that the 2wd arm is a little shorter with less drop. i just looked up the part on your link, you got the last one i guess(showing 0 in stock).
