Here is a link to the Factory Service Manual for an 85' 4runner. It should have everything you need in it.

ok so finally got all the studs, bolts, gaskets, belts and starter, got a lot of the rig together. as i installed the intake i noticed at the rear of the intake sideof the head there is a port in the head, now i did not disassembly this engine so im not sure whats supposed to go there. if its emmisions were going to need it were in ca and he wants the rig street legal. and also any recomendations for power steering pump he isnt going hydro yet and it has a ifs box

If the port has two bolt holes above and one below, it is the EGR valve.

All of the them, Fed and Cali smog, came with the egr, as well as 22r's, testing it(test causes the engine to stall) is part of the smog test.

Do you have a factory manual, or are you using Haynes/Chiltons?

Keep the IFS steering box in-place. He’ll need it he’s going high steer. If he isnt going high steer slap some sense into him. Push/pull steering is a problem if lifting the suspension.
