Emissions question for Oregonians.
« on: Aug 26, 2018, 02:24:09 PM »
Hello there, I have some emissions questions for those that live in Oregon, specifically those that live in or around the Portland area. I haven't been able to find much online.
Are the emissions laws difficult? Is there a way to get any of our 80's trucks emissions exempt?
What about desmoging? Are they as anal as say California?

I'm getting close to assemble my 22R for a project 2WD truck, and I wanted to ditch all the emissions garbage. I'm planning on moving to Portland when I'm done with my welding degree.

Not sure on Portland area but in the rogue valley, there is a map.  Also a year limit.  The map is DEQ not DMV so that may help your Google-Fu

Check it

hold this. . .

Emission in the Portland Oregon area include only a visual of your cat, and test your exhaust pipe. (they wont open your hood) But I would not remove any of the current emissions components.

Interesting. I take it that's been your general experience?

I also found out there can't be any street legal dirtbikes in Oregon. Where's the fun at?
