G52 problems
« on: May 07, 2018, 06:02:49 PM »
i'm in the process of putting a new clutch in my 1987 pickup 22r G52 4x4 bone stock and i figured it would be a good time to see why i lost first gear. i got the truck a while ago and i saw a e-ring fall out when i was draining the gear oil in the tranny. i can put it into 1st but the minute the clutch is released it pops out. (every other gear shifts fine) i pulled apart the transmission and i saw no wear and tear. and cant for the life of me find where the clip came from. how many e-rings does it have? on shift fork shaft one does the e-ring clip on the end supposed to spin and wiggle or is it supposed to be snug? as far as i can tell with the 1987 toyota shop manual i have all of the e-rings i need. any tips or parts to check would be much appreciated.
