Alignment issues?
« on: Mar 09, 2018, 06:44:24 AM »
Hey guys, Iíve been having some alignment issues on my truck. I got the front hubs rebuilt before I went on a pretty long road-trip last year. I noticed that the tires were wearing very quickly and unevenly. I got an alignment at a generic shop but I donít believe that helped. I was told that maybe a wheel bearing? Or tie-rod ends? Iím not sure what to really look for. Any suggestions, Iíd rather not pay a shop to rip me off. You can see in the photo that the lugs slant upward every other lug. The wearing is pretty evident when looking at the half worn rear tires.

Lift and support truck on its axles. Grab the top and bottom of tire. See of it has any slack in it top to bottom. Then try front to back. If you do not find any start looking at caster/camber which are both relative to the knuckle bearing shims and tie rod adjustment

Hey guys, Iíve been having some alignment issues on my truck.

I canít see the entire tire tread, but it looks like a typical wear pattern on a mud or big lug tire.

What make of tire is it?

How many miles on it?

What air pressure are you running?

Do the front and rear look the same?

Having a shop do a re-alignment doesnít mean didly!

When driving, does the truck track normal, pull right or left, or want to hunt?

Do you know how to check the toe-in?

Gnarls.

We did the alignment on my 85 Hilux using a tape measure and it tracks perfectly.
