We (me and my family) live in Montana! so that means thirty to forty degrees below zero in mid winter (late December to early January)  :yikes: and of coarse big snow in the spring. (thus the earlier comment) we usually get "spring spring" in mid to late April and a snow storm somewhere in there, then a large blizzard in may, and the summer!

Surely someone can top a measly two feet of snow with flooding, drought, an earthquake, tornado, hurricane, or a volcanic eruption or something........

Not topping your snow, but there is a very neat wilderness area nearby called the trinity alps.  Many high peaks and secluded valleys that still hold a fair amount of snow, with some of the lakes being nearly frozen over still.  I have only seen this once before in my many years of hiking the alps, which was a small lake on the north side of a very steep ridge on my birthday hike in late july

The road crews are still working to remove snow so people can drive all the way through lassen park.  See if this works:  https://m.facebook.com/caltransdistrict2redding/photos/pcb.1422972157757319/1422972127757322/?type=3&source=49
