Need some help
« on: Apr 15, 2017, 11:58:54 AM »
I have a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 318 engine. Problem I'm having is the jeep will not always start. I will turn over, start and shut down, will do this repeatedly. Once in a while it will start and run normally but lately it will not even do that. Was told it was a security issue and I need a new computer so I bought a new rebuilt replacement and the problem is still there. I smell fuel after several attempted starts.
Does anyone have any idea what would cause this problem. I'm at the end of my rope here, been dealing with this problem for many months. Last night it did start but ran very rough, shut is off and would not restart.
No shops here have a clue as to what is wrong. Thanks you for any help with this problem.

Possible cam or crank sensor? Weak coil? You say you smell fuel so weak spark? Check the distributor rotor for carbon tracking. What have you checked or verified is good or bad?

I have replaced all the items in your post. Found and fixed the problem, was a security issue. Hope the fix in permanent.
