5VZ-FE in place of a 22RE
« on: Oct 13, 2016, 01:56:53 PM »
I just got home from helping my buddy Tony set the new to him 5VZ V6 into his 95 4Runner in place of the 22RE that blew up on the way home from a camping weekend.

He had all the mounts relocated already and really only needed an extra hand but, I showed up with two hands instead and we got the job done in short order.
This is the truck when it still had to 4 cylinder engine chugging it along.

Here she is in place, had to find the picture.

Oh yes, there is a lot more work but, the hard part is done and my buddy will be wheeling again soon.

I am putting this 400 bored .30 over into my 1970 Nomad and have a complete 283 ready to run I'd like to throw in a mini truck and a 350 4 bolt going to the machine shop for a super build after the new year when I have more money to play with.

A 5VZ would be nice to own for my own rig but, they cost a lot more than the free Chevy engines I had dumped in my lap.

Just make sure to upgrade your axles at the same time otherwise expect to blow up 3rds and shafts left and right.
