Who bent his driveshaft today
« on: Jun 25, 2016, 03:41:56 PM »
I bent the driveshaft today, that's who.

Lost traction and slid in between some massive rocks and bent the shaft, was able to drive out of Rowhers to the Halfway Cafe on Sierra Hwy doing a whopping 22mph in 100° heat. Stopped, called AAA, ordered a BLT and waited a whole 10 minutes for the flatbed to arrive.
Have truck in driveway and will get another driveshaft on Monday.
Awesomeness is a word I like to use to describe the fun I was having on that pile of practice rocks but, it got too hot to play in the rocks so I was on my way home when I felt the shaft was bent, on well.
It was fun  and I am sure it is not the last one I will break.  :hammerhead:

I felt a bit of pride when I saw the bent shaft as silly as that sounds, fun is breaking my Yota then fixing it to maybe break her again and no, I am not breaking her on purpose, I am just learning how to have fun in 4 wheel drive low, low, low.

I run schedule 80 for my rear in my rig. It's heavy but I have never bent one. No fun to be sitting due to that.

I want to do the Rubicon with Marlin and everybody this September, I will have a spare rear driveshaft with me because it is affordable, the front shaft is also a new unit just happens to made with Marlin goodies but, I can't afford a spare front driveshaft this year.

I have a new shaft and Wenco Driveshaft of Van Nuys is 12 minutes from my house, he sets me up with a quickness.
If you have a damaged driveshaft you don't mind cutting the ends off of, I would buy them from you if the price was right. No more OEM shafts are going in my Yota if I am going to keep pretending to be a rock crawling wannabe.  :smokin:
