I'm running a gm 1 wire on my 22r. 140 amp I believe. I had a local starter shop build it for me. Cheap, simple, reliable. I can't complain.

I'm running a 1 wire also. No complaints. Simple wiring & no external voltage regulator.

Yep, I am going to GM.  :hammerhead: OMG I just said that out loud. :_oops: I feel dirty. :puke:
Bottom line I can get a new forever warranty one for dirt prices. Every auto parts store on the planet stocks one, so if I am in "Colorado or Canada" They are easy and cheep to pickup at every town. unless I find some other sweet Idea I think this makes the most  :twocents:

Sqwadoosh, remember when I told you his engine is Chevy orange?  Now you know...  Let's make a list of the Chevy mods on this build so far.  -Chevy orange. -Chevy rear springs, -chevy alternator.  Look away folks, it's getting ugly now

Its rather ironic seeing as he works for Toyota. You'd think he'd be more faithful to the fold.  :slap:

Installed under hood light tonight. I really like.
Thanks for the recommendation JK.
I bought just one as under hood light before going all in on full set for rock lights. I'm sold.

Get the bearing sizes so you can buy them by size not for an alternator......

Much cheaper that way....

Not sure yet, there are multiple options for mounting.
Might weld small tabs to frame.
Going to do some tests for position location once I have them.
My goal is to have them done before Marlin mini roundups Friday night wheeling.
Give new meaning to "Friday night lights"

Got to say "I love it when a plan comes together"
And "I really love it when it's a cheap fix".

Alternator reassemble and installed, 14.2 volts with everything I have except winch on.
So far it looks like just a $15 set of brushes.
Dam Toyota made one hell of a truck back in the day. Original alternator just keeps ticking along.

OK, I couldn't tell from the video.  They looked like you could get more squish out of them?  Have your tried running them at 4 or 5 PSI?  Maybe the sidewalls won't let them squish that much more?

Yeah, 10 PSI was my starting point on rocks.  For mud, snow, and sand I air'd down to 4 lbs. on my 33's.

Once the front end bounces you've killed your forward momentum. I thought it was odd that your tires didn't seem to be picking up any dirt. Must be wet rock mostly and not really mud?

It is a deceiving hill, basically the entire thing is a monster size rock with loose dirt and rocks on top of it. It is very steep and gives you no option other than momentum to get up. The first time I tried it a few years ago I attempted to crawl it. I did not even get 1/4 of the way up.
Next time I try it I will actually air down the tires. Its 2 miles from My house and I was lazy. I think if I had Andrews 3rz I could have made it happen. On My second to last try I had It, all but two feet. Tried to crawl last two feet and no dice. Its no Joke of a hill, Has not been summited in a few years now and Many Many people have tried. I look forward to bringing the red truck over there and let him try, should be good video and entertainment.

Andrew should have a significant tire advantage due to size and design plus more power. It looks like you may need enough power to allow you to slow down enough to avoid flying the front end and then being able to get going again. More power and an automatic might be a better combo.
