Wow turns out much better with paint brush. Only done one coat so far.
I wish I would have hand painted everything this way before installing.
Rust-oleum is great stuff in the can.

We lost our mudmaster. Transmission case completly cracked all the way around. I tried to get a photo but you cant really see it. Got a shot of Mudmaster, might be a while before we see him out again.
Three truck Daisy chain linked together pulling rolled truck up the remaining portions of the trail.
Bestgen, mudmaster, and Rollover guys Dad all tied to rolled truck.
We beat on the trucks pulling it up and out. Mudmaster cracked transmission, Kids Dad broke his front axle.
Check out body damage they took from the stump I dragged them threw. Ouch!!!!!

Geezz… Did anybody get hurt?

As a main hobby I started off-roading in 1977.  Started 4-wheeling in 1986 and was very active until about 2000.  I’ve seen a lot and learned a lot.  I’ve been in 2 roll-overs and had to total two of my 4 Toyota trucks.  I’ve seen lots of recoveries, winchings, snatches, carnage, and some amazing on-trail repairs.  I have also experienced the instant anal puckering panic of  “OH $HIT!... NO BRAKES!  After that I spent some time figuring out how to avoid or reduce the potential situation of NOT having enough braking power while on a trail.

So how did a rookie driver end up down a mountain?  Was this a club event or just a get-together trail run?

I’m just curious.

Thanks :)bestgen4runner for posting photos and videos.

Truck was about 75 feet from recovery point. None of our lines were long enough to use snatches.

How much cable length did each winch have?

Saw this all on Reddit. Didn't know it was you. Sure is scary stuff. I've only been in the game for 4 years or so and have been lucky to stay out of any serious trouble so far. But it's good to post this stuff as a reminder of the real danger involved which we sometimes don't think about.

Got some free time between jobs.  :wiggle:
So went ahead and put the soft top away for the year, back on goes the big heavy hard top. (No Fun)
3/4 of the way done with My check over and nothing major found as of yet.
Added a small amount of shock proof to the front diff, topped off the trans fluid with Redline N/S, 1/4 Qt of oil for the 22RE, Got some slack out of the rear u-bolts (all torqued up), Front u-bolts seem to have settled in (only a slight turn on one), All the steering studs torqued perfect.
Greased everything that can be greased, adjusted the rear brake shoes.
Need to check front axle shafts (new style longs) and 25mm trunnion bearings  :turtle: tomorrow.
Engine seems to have a small oil leak at pass rear. one or two drips  (I will keep an eye on it for now)
I am 1/5th of Perfect Fit
SqWADoosh [04:19 PM]: *sigh* I guess Chris is right and I just need to wait until I'm in a place where I have a tow rig and trailer before I get this caliber of truck
Mudder [08:28 PM]:   not try to be a jerk, but are you serious bestgen?
Prismo [06:11 PM]:   Done, time to relax or as Bestgen says....FREEDOM!
HogCanyonHopper [06:54 PM]:   I like my little rod. it gets the job done
H8PVMNT [03:30 PM]: I can go both ways.
