The build with no name.
« on: Apr 19, 2016, 11:07:30 PM »
So I have started on my next build after selling my last one. And the one before that.

http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=96772.0

http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=52277.0

This build has already and will be rather backwards. I don't even have a vehicle! But I have parts, lots of parts. My goal is to build the best rig my skills and wallet can. I am going to build the $$ chucks then worry about a vehicle. Weird I know.

The goals:
- 2jz
- Diamonds front/rear axle 9.5" ARB 5.29's
- 4wheelunderground links
- 4.7's/doubler
- All on 37's

So let get started.

I started by cleaning up some IFS hubs. I have also drilled them for six dowel pins.

ARP hub studs.

The new FROR plate allows you to use +05 4runner rear disk brakes with parking brake. I test fit everything.

Looks awesome!

I still have the other side. The axle is Full Float, 61"

If you see it, its for sale.

I need to find a job, I keep building things with nothing todo. Made this from some 1x2x1/16 tubing and 4" scheduale 80 steel pipe. Rolls like a champ. 60ish for everything including the casters.

I need a horizontal band saw or a metal chop saw. I'm so tired of cutting this crap with cut off disks.

If you see it, its for sale.

Starting with a drive train and going from there is probably the right way to do it.  Then you start with what you want/need instead of compromising until you break enough to justify the build.  Kind of like putting sliders on a rig before you smash the rockers instead of after.

Not sure how much of a market there is for me doing stuff like this and if I could support myself. I enjoy building stuff, the best I can, not sure I would do well slapping stuff together for people that want it cheap, quick and don't really care.
If you see it, its for sale.

I have a problem...

HAH! No one of them is LittleSteves. I scored the two cases for $250 bucks. Not to bad.

Some rust on some of the parts but overall rather clean. Now to clean it up. Helipiot things I should polish the case. I'm not sure.

I am going to try something fun with the cases, have to wait and see it I can do it!

If you see it, its for sale.

Pink anodized would be sweet.  Then you could call your build pinky.

So I am done cleaing the T-Case. They are so clean you can eat off them. No, for real, eat off them.

I don't really like Harbor Freight, but props for this cheap soda blaster. DID AN AWESOME JOB! Took about 20lbs of soda.

I know they don't look like much yet.

Ground for my low range gears.

Yeah, i'm that guy now.

This also did a really nice job! I wouldn't have done this, but blasting really did a good job and I prewashed them in SimpleGreen.

They are as clean as new. I even went in and ground the flash off, wirebrushed the threads and pin holes, cleaned up everything. They are so clean I can't bring myself to store them outside. I have them in my office on a shelf.

If you see it, its for sale.
