Diff Jig
« on: Apr 16, 2016, 04:44:19 PM »
So after much practice with my Tig welder I wanted a project. So I built a Diff Jig for building toyota diffs. I still need to make the 9.5" holder, but that can wait. Total cost was about 50 bucks and most of that was from the large bolts.

Helipilots dad was nice enough to turn this for me. The bolts is 1"

This is how it will sit in 1/4 plate.

Welded in.

This was the 7th level of hell.

Everything tacked up.

It works great! I still need to cut and bolts the base down, and make the 9.5" diff holder. That will wait for another day.

If you see it, its for sale.

I made something like that a few years back.  They are so much nicer than a vise.  Now make a little plate on your bench to bolt the pinion flange too so you can torque the pinion nut easier...

I have a long (very long) bar with the various bolt patterns on it. Makes it super easy and I like it more than the bench bolt down.
If you see it, its for sale.
